GENERAL INFORMATION – Know before you go

We are safe, compliant, and open for business! Please note the following while planning your visit:

  1. Masks are required. All patrons must wear masks any time they’re not seated.
  2. Tastings are different – but change is great! Tastings are served as seated flights. Alcohol consumption can only take place while seated and food also must be included with your wine tasting. Wineries are required by the state to provide small snacks for a nominal fee (a packet of crackers for $1, for example).
  3. Capacity restrictions. Wineries are required to limit the number of visitors on their property and many require reservations to help manage the flow of traffic. Most are limiting groups to no more than 4 or 6 people. As the weather gets cooler and outdoor space is less usable, it will be all the more important to plan ahead. Saturdays in particular may be challenging if you don’t book your reservations well in advance. Please scroll on to read the individual winery policies related to hours of operation, group size, and reservation requirements.
  4. Tasting fees reflect additional effort and staffing required. These days, the average tasting is between $7 and $12 per flight, and a few being a bit higher. Because tastings are slower paced and seated, you will definitely be visiting fewer wineries than you may have in the past.
  5. New York State currently restricts travel from “hot spots”. Please check New York State’s Restricted List and follow the travel advisory requirements if you’re from a state on the restricted list. And we hope it goes without saying, please stay home if you are ill.

IMPORTANT UPDATE 10/20/20: Today, New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo announced, “Neighboring states Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania now meet the criteria for the travel advisory… New York State highly discourages, to the extent practical, non-essential travel to and from these states while they meet the travel advisory criteria.”

What does this mean? This is NOT a travel ban. The discouragement of nonessential travel from these three states will be rescinded when numbers in these states resolve, similar to how states have been added and removed from the restricted travel list throughout the pandemic. There is nothing for wineries to “enforce” at this time, as this is not a law or Executive Order. Rather, it’s up to the consumer to “self regulate”. It is important to work together to curb the spread of COVID-19. Please visit Governor Cuomo’s COVID-19 resource page: https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/home
