Elevated Tastings

A step above the average tasting experience, these options may include light food pairings, private tastings, and educational add-ons.

  • Cheese and Wine or Chocolate and Wine Pairings at Belhurst Winery: a flight of 5 New York Cheeses perfectly paired with 5 wines or a flight of 5 truffles perfectly paired with 5 wines – $1 coupon off of chocolate! Learn more.
  • Blind Tastings in the Vineyard at Either Oar Wine, Whiskey, and Cheese Bar. Available on Fridays at 5pm, these tastings are approximately 1 hour. Guests can choose if they’d like to taste wine or whiskey, paired with cheese. Staff will pour and ask guests to guess what they’re sipping. Get them all right and win a prize! Blind tastings are $35. Weather dependent, walk-ins welcome, no reservations necessary (unless groups of 6+), based on availability.
  • Cheese, Chocolate, and Charcuterie at Fox Run Vineyards – Cheese & charcuterie go great with whites, chocolate with the reds – but we want you to play around and see what flavors work for you! Enjoy three curated bites to explore alongside your tasting for a fun & elevated tasting experience. $20/person, no reservations required-just ask at the tasting bar!
  • Chocolate & Wine Tasting at Glenora Wine Cellars. A five course tasting, with an expertly paired truffle and wine for each course. With each flavor of chocolate, guests can select a dry or sweet wine to accompany it. Truffles come from Dimitri’s Confectionary of Corning. Tastings are available by reservation only, and are $20 a person. Please call 800-243-5513 to schedule your tasting.
  • Private Tasting at Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards: The Private Tasting is led by a Wine Guide and includes wine/cider/wine seltzer paired with a charcuterie board in a private tasting room. Plan for about 50 minutes for the experience. Available for groups of up to 12. Reservervations are required and must be made 24 hours in advance of a visit by phone: 607-546-9463. The fee is $20/person.
  • Estate Reserve & Library Tasting at Silver Thread Estate. Enjoy an expert-led, small group tasting overlooking Seneca Lake. Guests select six wines from our estate grown, limited and library tasting list. Learn how wines change over time and the great pleasure that comes with letting them age. Reserve your spot here. Group size max: 6. Tasting fee: $25
  • Library Tastings in the Octagon Room at Wagner Vineyards. A library tasting in the newly renovated Octagon Library room – featuring 8 wines: 4 aged wines from past vintages alongside their current counterparts. Tastings last approximately 45 minutes and include a small charcuterie plate. Learn more here.

In-Depth Food & Wine Experiences

These experiences are more involved than those listed above. You’ll definitely want to plan your time accordingly. They include in-depth food and wine pairings with educational components.

  • Food and Wine Pairing Dinners at Belhurst CastleRelax and enjoy gorgeous views of Seneca Lake as our Food and Wine Pairing Specialists guide your taste buds through a six-course food and wine pairing dinner. Available by reservation, click here to preview the current menu.   • Food and Wine Experience at Fox Run VineyardsEnjoy an in-depth tour of the vineyards and winemaking facility, overlooking Seneca Lake. Following the tour, join the owners and chef Brud Holland for a plate of six delicious bites alongside a flight of six incredible wines, including a dessert wine. Available on select Fridays, July through October, at 11:30am. Reservations required. Learn more.
  • Wine & Food Pairing at the Silver Thread Winegarden. Calling all foodies! Savor the interplay between three wines and three specially-selected small bites from our Austrian-inspired menu. Selections change seasonally. Reserve your spot here. Group size max: 6. Tasting fee: $40.
  • Sip, Savor, and Learn at Tabora Farm and Winery. This guided tasting features an expanded flight of our handcrafted wines, thoughtfully paired with seasonal bites from their farm kitchen and bakery. You’ll explore the nuances of each pour while gaining insight into winemaking techniques, grape varietals, food pairing principles, and the unique characteristics of our Finger Lakes terroir.
