General Information

Leidenfrost Vineyards is a small, family owned farm-winery in the heart of the Finger Lakes in Hector, New York. Located on the southeastern shore of Seneca Lake, Leidenfrost Vineyards is an ideal microclimate to grow premium Vinifera, Labrusca and hybrid wine grapes. From vineyard to tasting room, we focus on producing small batch, hand-crafted wines made from estate grown grapes.

Since 1990, Leidenfrost Vineyards has intentionally remained a small, family run farm-winery. A high level of quality and individual attention to every wine is integral to our owner John and his daughter and winemaker, Liz and each wine is hand crafted in small batches made from 100% estate grown grapes.

A small family winery means that you’re treated like family when you visit. Our wonderful staff are long term employees who bring a wide range of talents to the winery, including an appreciation for great wine and a fun, friendly and easy-going atmosphere.

Our Wines

Founded in 1990, Leidenfrost was one of the first Finger Lakes wineries to offer a wide selection of dry red wines, including Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. We also make bright, refreshing white wines with an emphasis on drinkability.
Today, our tasting room features a spectrum of 100% estate grown wines ranging from dry to sweet, red to white, sparkling wine and port-style wines.

Tasting Information

Wine tastings feature a guided experience of any 6 wines of your choice on our list for $12.

Prepackaged local cheeses, meats, and other snacks are available for purchase to pair with your wines.

We accept groups of up to 8 people max for wine tasting.

Tastings are offered on a first come, first served basis. If we’re unable to accommodate you and your party for a tasting, we offer glasses & bottles of wine, mimosas, and snacks at our outdoor seating- weather permitting.

Reservations for groups of 6-8 people are highly recommended. Reservations can be made by sending an inquiry to leidenfrostbooking@gmail.com. Include the date, time, and number of people in your party. You will receive a response within 48 hours.

Private Tasting Packages for larger groups of 8-20 people:

Reserve a private space for in our tasting room for a private tasting experience.
Choose from one of two experiences: Sip & Savor or Winemaker’s Selection
-Sip & Savor: guided tasting with a dedicated staff member, craft your own flight, includes a complimentary charcuterie board of locally made meats and cheeses ($25 per person,
-Winemaker’s Selection: guided tasting with a dedicated staff member, curated flight (choose dry or mixed wine flight) ($15 per person)
