Riesling Expedition Virtual Tasting with Atwater

July 15, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

three bottles of wine and a waterfall

Journey Back to 2014

Experience the variations of three of our 2014 Dry Riesling varieties through a horizontal tasting of the Dry Riesling Navone, Dry Riesling Middle Block One, and Dry Riesling East-West Block to see how different vineyards and winemaking processes can affect the flavors and aromas of the wine made from a single type of grape.

Dry Riesling East-West 2014
Sourced from only the East/West oriented Riesling blocks on the estate, these grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for seven months. Light floral flavors compliment juicy aromas of tangerine with a hint of flint or wet stone in an even balance of acidity and fruit with understated intensity. The finish is delicate and soft, quite quaffable.

Dry Riesling Middle Block One 2014
Sourced from our youngest Riesling which was planted in 2006, these grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for seven months. The wine offers concentrated ripeness with racy acidity with notes of crisp apple/pear notes and a palate of lemon/citrus and hints of nut oil.

Dry Riesling Navone 2014
Tending to the vines at Navone Vineyards’ steep site since 2009, our team has worked closely with owners Josh and Lisa Navone to grow distinctive, mineral-driven Riesling. The grapes in this single-vineyard selection contained 25% botrytis, were whole-cluster pressed, then barrel-aged in neutral French oak barrels for five months, giving it textural charm with an enhanced mouth-feel.  Flavors are rich and flinty though citrus and apple remain upfront. A delicate nuttiness rounds out the finish.

These wines come from our library and are only available through this limited edition offer, with just twenty-four (24) three-packs available. Order by July 9th to have your wines in time for the virtual tasting >>> CLICK HERE to order.
