Celebrate Share & Pair Sundays: 4 Fun Ways to Savor Wine & Togetherness This Spring

Spring is here, and there’s no better way to embrace the season than by gathering with friends, enjoying delicious food, and, of course, sipping on fantastic wine! That’s exactly what Share & Pair Sundays are all about—bringing people together to celebrate great wine and great company.

Whether you’re visiting our vineyard or creating your own Share & Pair experience at home, here are three fun ways to make the most of this weekly celebration.

1. Host a DIY Wine & Food Pairing Party

Enjoy delicious food at Ventosa Vineyards such as this cheeseboard with a baguette

Turn your Sunday into an interactive tasting experience! Pick up a bottle (or two) of your favorite Seneca Lake wine and pair it with small bites that highlight the flavors.

Need some inspiration? Try these crowd-pleasing pairings:

Semi-dry or semi-sweet red with spicy BBQ sliders or chocolate-covered strawberries

Dry red with aged cheddar and charcuterie

Dry white or sweet white with goat cheese and honey-drizzled crostini

Encourage guests to mix and match, and let the best pairing win bragging rights!

2. Plan a Vineyard Picnic

Nothing says spring like a relaxing picnic among the vines!

A number of Seneca Lake wineries have picnic areas, including: Anthony Road Wine Company, Atwater Vineyards, Boundary Breaks, CK Cellars, Fox Run Vineyards, Fulkerson Winery, Glenora Wine Cellars, Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards, Hickory Hollow Wine Cellars, Idol Ridge Winery, Lakewood Vineyards, Leidenfrost Vineyards, Red Newt Cellars, Tabora Farm and Winery, Toast Winery, Wagner Vineyards, and White Springs Winery.

Grab a bottle of wine, and set up your own outdoor feast. Pack a basket with fresh fruit, artisanal cheeses, and a cozy blanket, then settle in for an afternoon of sipping and sunshine.

3. Virtual Cheers with Faraway Friends

Can’t be together in person? No problem! Share & Pair Sundays can go virtual. Coordinate with friends to grab the same bottle of wine and hop on a video call to sip and chat. Up the fun with a themed tasting—try pairing different wines with similar foods and see how the flavors compare across locations.

Make it extra interactive by sharing your experience on social media. Tag us, the winery of your choosing, and use #ShareAndPairSundays to join the community of wine lovers celebrating together!

4. Attend a Wine and Food Event on the Wine Trail

The Seneca Lake Wine Trail hosts a variety of wine and food pairing events throughout the year including: Spring Wine and Cheese (April 11-13), Smokin’ Summer Kickoff (June 7 and 8), and Deck the Halls (November 21-23 and December 5-7).

During these events, ticketholders visit a variety of wineries, each with their own unique recipe that they prepare just for the event! Then they take it a step further and pair it with a wine. It’s a fun way to explore the Trail while also learning along the way and collecting great recipes to boot!

So how will you Share and Pair this Sunday (and every other day, for that matter)? Whether it’s with food or friends, there is no wrong way to incorporate great, local wine into your every day life. Make it a celebration! Life is too short to miss a chance to enjoy the ride.
