How do the tickets work and what do they include?
With all of our events, your tickets are good for all days of the event and you can visit each winery once at any time during the event hours.
- Wine tasting tickets for Chocolate and Wine, Winter Warmup and Wine, Spring Wine and Cheese, and Smokin’ Summer Kickoff are sold as individual tickets. That means each ticket admits ONE person. Your ticket includes: one souvenir wine glass, one event-specific wine glass charm, one wine and food pairing at each participating winery, plus one wine tasting including three wines at each participating winery.
- For all events except Deck the Halls, one tasting ticket admits one person to receive one tasting in one glass at each participating winery.
- Designated driver tickets for all events except Deck the Halls include the food sample at each winery, plus a selection of non-alcoholic beverages at participating wineries along the way.
- For Deck the Halls, there are singles tickets and couple’s tickets.
- A Deck the Halls Single Ticket includes our signature grapevine wreath, an ornament at each winery, a souvenir event glass, recipe book, and specially selected food and wine pairing at each participating winery, plus a wine tasting of three additional wines at each participating winery.
- A Deck the Halls Couple’s Ticket includes the following items to share: one signature grapevine wreath, one ornament at each winery to decorate your wreath, and one recipe book. It includes two of the following items: a souvenir event glass, plus a specially selected wine and food pairing for each person at each participating winery, plus a wine tasting including three wines at each participating winery, for each person.
- Designated driver tickets include a souvenir mini-mug, the food sample at each participating winery, and non-alcoholic beverage options along the way.
- For all Wine Trail events, the maximum group size is 6 people and that includes ALL ticketholders in your group (whether wine tasting or DDs). You may not attend the event in groups larger than 6.
Tasting Passes
- We also have two tasting passes in 2025. The first is in January, valid January 2-31, 2025 and the second is in May, celebrating rose from May 5-11, 2025. Each tasting pass has different participating wineries.
- Purchase the pass and receive a standard tasting at each participating winery. These passes offer a wonderful way to save on tasting fees (which means more to spend on wine!).
- Tasting passes are sold per person. Each tasting pass entitles the holder to one glass and one tasting flight at each participating winery.
- You can think of these passes as our way of saying thank you for visiting during the quieter seasons.
- Your visits and purchases make a difference to us and our member wineris, who are small, locally-owned businesses.
- With tasting passes, the maximum group size is 6 people and that includes ALL passholders in your group.
How do I get my tickets?
Wine Trail events tickets and tasting passes are digital. You will receive your tickets in your email, or, when you check out, you can opt to also have them sent to your phone or Apple Wallet. You must pull up your ticket to be scanned at each participating winery.
If, after you place your order, you don’t see your tickets in your email inbox, just give us a call: 607-535-8080 or send us an email: info(at)senecalakewine(dot)com and we’ll help you out.
Why do I need to choose a starting winery?
You will choose a starting winery when you purchase your tickets. You must begin at your starting winery in order to pick up your tasting glass and event favor, but from there, you may visit the remaining wineries in any order you choose.
Once you choose a starting winery, it cannot be changed.
If you plan to attend the event with friends or family and all want to start at the same winery, you should plan to purchase your tickets at the same time (though of course, not in groups larger than 6).
What can I expect during the event?
Each event has a theme. For Chocolate and Wine, recipes have chocolate as a key component; for Spring Wine and Cheese, recipes have cheese as a key component; for Winter Warmup and Wine, the recipes are inspired by comfort foods, and so on.
I have dietary restrictions or food allergies. Are these events right for me?
Due to the number of attendees and volume of food prepared, addressing dietary restrictions and food allergies is extremely challenging. We encourage you to preview the event recipes (posted within each event) before purchasing tickets.
I want to travel in a group. Can I do that during the event?
The group size maximum for Wine Trail event weekends and for all tasting passes is 6 people. Please abide by this maximum. Wineries do not split groups. If you violate this maximum, you can have your tickets revoked and be asked to leave the event.
What else should I know?
Wine Trail events are not appropriate for children and individuals under 21 should not attend. While most of our wineries are pet-friendly during the year, please leave your pets at home during Wine Trail event weekends. Food is being served and pets cannot be in the vicinity.
Bring proof of ID, as each winery is required by law to ensure tasters are 21 or older. You may be ID’d multiple times throughout the weekend and even multiple times in the same winery (before you taste for example, and again before you buy). Take it in stride and know that our wineries are just doing the right thing and following the law.
