For over fifteen years the Bistro at Red Newt was a driving force in the local-vore farm to table restaurant scene in the Finger Lakes. Under the direction of late Chef Debra Whiting, the menu was innovative, inspired, ever-changing and delicious. Founding Winemaker, David Whiting, spent years in the back-ground helping to prep, cook and cater.
This year, he will be jumping back into the kitchen for a few special dinners with the help of lead winemaker Christina Zapel. “What?! Two winemakers in the kitchen?” Yes. As it turns out, Christina is also a passionate foodie who studied food and nutrition at NYU before jumping into her winemaking career with both feet. And the menu will include some of our favorite dishes from the golden era of the Red Newt Bistro. This is going to be fun!
