Corning Museum of Glass

Explore glass from all angles. See the world’s largest collection of glass art, watch live glassmaking demonstrations, and make your own glass. Kids and teens, 17 and under receive free admission. Located in the heart of Finger Lakes Wine Country in upstate New York, half-way between Niagara Falls and New York City, there is something for everyone at The Corning Museum of Glass. Wine and glass are the perfect pairing for both the novice and the connoisseur.

Visit their newly-added Contemporary Art + Design Wing featuring 26,000-square-foot of day-lit gallery space which showcases the best of the last 25 years in glassmaking. The wing also houses the Amphitheater Hot Shop, which is the world’s largest space for glassblowing demonstrations and live glass design sessions. Watch glass come to life during live Hot Glass Demonstrations. Their gaffers turn molten glass into beautiful objects as a narrator explains the process and answers your questions in real-time.

Once you’ve been inspired by our master glassblowers, you’ll want to experience the wonder of glassmaking for yourself! Make a memento of your Finger Lakes Wine Country experience during a Make Your Own Glass workshop, you’ll work hands-on with a glassmaker to create your own piece. These short, daily workshops include projects like fused picture frames and suncatchers, sandblasted drinking glasses, flameworked beads and pendants, pulled glass flowers and delicate blown ornaments.
