Black Squirrel Farm

About Us

Located on the west side of Seneca Lake, directly on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, Black Squirrel Farms focuses on black walnuts, a native North American nut tree that produces healthy, delicious food while requiring minimal care.

Our 8+ acres of land is home to the first 20-C licensed black walnut processing facility in NYS. We grow black walnuts and more in partnership with our affiliates. We also manage a regional black walnut collection program for local growers. We sell local black walnuts to eat along with nutshell products.

WE ARE NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FOR ON-SITE TOURS!

Come let us show you all that the black walnut tree has to offer. In addition to learning about the tree, its place in the landscape and how we get black walnuts from tree to table, visitors will have an opportunity to crack and taste/maple-glaze black walnuts themselves. Tours are outdoors, include a short hayride and take about an hour and a half. Inclement weather may require rescheduling and an onsite restroom is available. While all are welcome, we recommend people with tree nut allergies avoid cracking and sampling black walnuts. Children 8 and under are FREE but will not be able to crack walnuts due to safety concerns.
