1897 BEEKMAN HOUSE

About Us

1897 Beekman House is an exquisitely restored Victorian manor house located on Main Street in Dundee, NY, just minutes from Seneca Lake’s premier wineries. Our five luxurious guest rooms each have a personality all their own, while also reflecting the design motifs of the late nineteenth century, when the home was built. From the stately elegance of the Royal Room, to the richly-detailed opulence of the Empress Room to the cozy charm of the Cottage Room, our accommodations provide an environment to suit any taste.

Equally welcoming and well-appointed are our common areas. Partake in a singalong next to the functioning player piano in our Music Room, unwind over a game of cards in the Game Room, or enjoy a Beekman Welcome Package cheese and charcuterie board in the Tea Room. When the weather is amenable, we have many outside areas to explore, including our spacious front porch, a lawn table and chairs, and a fire pit with bench seating, situated around our lovely raised garden. When it is time to dine, you will do so in style. Our dining room features a ten-seat table, upholstered hardwood chairs, and many other dazzling antique pieces, including a working Victrola cabinet phonograph from 1913.

Each morning, we offer a gourmet three-course breakfast, accompanied by French press coffee, tea, or espresso service. We present a wide array of traditional and contemporary breakfast fare, including home-baked bread and pastries. From croissants and Danishes to Eggs Benedict and omelets to shakshuka and fried chicken and waffles, we provide a variety of carefully-crafted and delicious dishes that you are sure to savor to the last bite. We are happy to accommodate any and all dietary needs, restrictions, and allergies, as it is important to us that each of our guests enjoys a delectable and memorable meal.

About Us

Lilly and Greg DeForest-Campbell are the married team who run 1897 Beekman House. Though Lilly hails from the nearby town of Genoa and Greg was born and raised in Maine, they met, fell in love, and married while living and working in New York City. Their common interests in wine and hospitality led them both to hold careers as sommeliers and restaurant managers. Throughout their courtship and beyond, they took frequent trips to the Finger Lakes, where they would marvel at the quality and ever-evolving innovation of local wineries and vineyards. They knew that the area was emerging as a world-class wine region, waiting to take its place amongst America’s premier wine travel destinations. With this in mind, they were on the lookout for the perfect setting in which to host visitors from near and far and to act as ambassadors for this wine locale in which they so strongly believe. 1897 Beekman House, with its proximity to the greatest wineries, breweries, distilleries, and natural attractions of the area, proved to be just the spot they were looking for. They, along with their sweet-tempered and well-trained German Shepherd Dog, Lola, are eager to welcome you to their home, so that they can share their hospitality, their wine and beverage knowledge, their enthusiasm for this beautiful region, and their lovingly prepared meals.

Sommelier-guided wine tours are available now, and other wine and food events will be added throughout the year. Keep abreast of events and activities at www.1897beekmanhouse.com. Your stay at 1897 Beekman House, where modern hospitality meets antique charm, is sure to provide you with timeless memories to last a lifetime.
