SUMMARY:Fly Tying Series at Fulkerson Winery
DESCRIPTION:2022 Winter Fly Tying Series \nAlways wanted to learn to tie your own flies but just couldn’t find the time?  With expert instruction\, all tools and materials supplied; you can get a good start with the art of fly tying in an few short sessions. These classes are an introduction to tying flies —anyone can learn to tie. \nTimes and cost per session and what’s included:\nClasses will be from 6-8pm. $40 per adult or $30 per child (between the ages 10- 19) or $60 combined adult and child. Cost includes the use fly tying vice\, tools\, and materials to tie the flies taught during class.\nClass will be limited to 10 students. \nFebruary 10: Introduction to Fly Tying \nAn overview of the basic equipment and materials will be covered\, as well as techniques required to create a number of fly styles. This session is intended to lay a good groundwork for the beginning tyer. It is our goal\, that by the end of this class\, you will have gained the fundamental knowledge to tie some basic flies. \nFebruary 17: Introduction to Tying Insects \nFish eat all sorts of food. This session will focus on tying flies that imitate insects. We will tie insects that are easy to create and appeal to many different types of fish. \nFebruary 24: Introduction to Tying Baitfish \nFish eat all sorts of food. This session will focus on tying flies that imitate baitfish. We will tie baitfish that are easy to create and appeal to many different types of fish. \nYour Instructor:\nShahab Farzanegan has worked in the field of aquatic and angling education for the last 20 years and has written many fly-fishing educational resources\, served as the instructor of fly fishing at Cornell University. Shahab currently lives in Glenora on Seneca Lake and is a certified New York State fishing guide and founder of the Glenora School of Fly Fishing.
