How to Get the Most From Your Visit to the Seneca Lake Wine Trail
An introduction for Tour Groups, Motorcoaches and Limousines
Thank you for your interest in setting up a group tour to our Seneca Lake Wine Trail wineries. We hope the guidelines we offer below will make your visit easy and enjoyable. You'll find a list of wineries that welcome large groups (some are too small) and a list of their tasting fees. The information on this page is current to the best of our knowledge. It is possible, however, that a winery has altered its tasting fees and/or policies and we have not been notified. To confirm the most current information for a winery you intend to visit, please contact that winery directly.
We would be happy to supply your group with our latest brochure. Just call and let us know how many you need and where to send them. You can also print a list of wineries and map that are located on our "Wineries" page.
Have a great visit, and enjoy the scenery and wines along our lake! You'll find a lot to come back for!
Kindest regards,
~~~~~~
WINERY VISITS ARE MEANT TO BE INFORMATIVE & EDUCATIONAL:
Some wineries offer walk-through tours and some offer films or demonstrations. A few wineries are small and offer only tastings and sales. If it is a guided tour you are looking for, the Seneca Lake Wine Trail office can direct you to the right winery to meet your guests' needs. Much can be learned by talking to the well-informed winery staff. They welcome your questions.
A "SAMPLING" EXPERIENCE:
Wineries often make samples of their products available to educate consumers and encourage sales. If guests are visiting for the expressed opportunity to taste many wines, advise them to tell the tasting staff that they would prefer to spit rather than swallow the samples. Wine judges, writers, and many others do it, and the winery staff is very familiar with the process. People should remember to taste responsibly.
While tasting wine is an enjoyable experience, over-consumption is not acceptable or tolerated. Please make your guests aware that wineries are prevented by law from serving obviously intoxicated customers, even if there is a designated driver.
COURTESY: There are basic principles that make any visit a pleasant experience for all:
-
If a winery already has another limousine or motorcoach, and you do not have an appointment, consider moving on and coming back at a later time.
-
If you have not made an appointment, the driver should inquire if it is convenient for your group to enter. Wineries most often insist on an appointment for groups.
-
Drivers, let passengers off at the entrance and proceed to another area of the parking lot. Please do not block the entrance to the winery or parking lot for others.
-
Remember, wineries are businesses that allow people to sample before buying. They are not rest stops.
-
If you need to dispose of refuse, please use trash receptacles, not the parking lot.
OTHER WINERY SERVICES: The wineries offer additional amenities such as dining at restaurants and cafes, wine clubs and activities, facility/wine making tours, winemaking supplies and lessons, picnic areas and playgrounds, catering and meeting rooms, art and much, much more!
GROUP SIZE/TASTING FEES ~ Please note tasting fees may be different from what is listed here or in a current brochure because of ongoing policy changes at individual wineries. Please check directly with each winery for the most up-to-date information.
