July 8, 2004 During her cross-country vacation the summer of 2004, our then Seneca Lake Wine Trail Director Barbara Adams made one wine-related stop in the charming town of Hermann, Missouri. Wineries and other members of the Hermann Chamber of Commerce are beginning to produce joint events, promote their wines together, and collaborate on how best to bring in more visitors. After a few telephone conferences, they invited her to stop by and share her experiences in administering events and other promotional programs for the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. In March 2004, Barbara made a trip with a similar purpose to the Michigan Grape & Wine Council Annual Meeting outside of Traverse City, Michigan. There is no lack of enthusiasm for new ways to work together and with 26 members, Seneca Lake Wine Trail stands as a good example of winery collaboration. Ms. Adams also visited several Hermann wineries and local attractions including Robller Vineyards, Stone Hill Winery, and Patty Kerr Bed & Breakfast. "It is an incredibly beautiful and historically rich region of the country. Anyone interested in regional wines should stop and taste the great variety of wines offered there," says Ms. Adams. "I hope to stay in touch with the friends I have made in Michigan and Missouri. We all need encouragement and a fresh viewpoint from time to time and I have found the traveling very stimulating to my own perspective. Besides that, there are all those new wines to try!"
