During the Seneca Lake Wine Trail's newest event in March, called "Cruisin' the Tropics", participants filled out survey cards filled with information on what they liked and suggestions to improve the first-time event. From all the completed surveys, one card was drawn and declared the winner of a summer cruise on the beautiful schooner Malabar X, moored in the harbor at the Watkins Glen. The winner is Jason Dadey of Wexford, Pennsylvania! When we spoke to him, he was excited to bring friends from Pittsburgh to visit the wineries and take the cruise on beautiful Seneca Lake.Congratulations, Jason!! Have a terrific time. Thanks to all who participated in the survey/contest! Here is how they describe themselves on their website: www.senecadaysails.com. "... the vintage schooner yacht "Malabar X"...originally built in 1930 and victorious in both the 1930 and 1932 Bermuda Race, is the epitome of the fine wooden racing/cruising schooners designed by John Alden."
