At Last Wineries will be able to Ship! - July 2005 PDF Print E-mail

July 14, 2005

Overlooking the lush vineyards of Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars on Seneca Lake yesterday, Governor George Pataki signed into law the legislation that will allow New York wineries to ship their products not only within New York but also to their loyal out of state customers. Within 30 days of his signature, regulations should be in place to conduct such wine sales. The final ruling follows the U.S. Supreme Court decision in May that New York's existing shipping regulations were unconstitutional.

The new law will allow customers to receive 36 cases per year of NY's wines. Some wineries have projected that their sales would increase by 10% - 30% with the implementation of this new law. Whatever the per cent, we are just happy to make our many loyal consumers happy at last!
